Dan Kajungu, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Dan Kajungu is the Member of the Board of Agency for Transformation. Dan is a Biostatistician and Public Health evaluation & research expert, with 10 years of work experience in public health and health systems research. He graduated from Makerere University with a bachelor’s degree in statistics and later obtained Masters’ degrees in Biostatistics (Epidemiology) and Applied Statistics (Data mining) from the University of Hasselt, Belgium. He is currently working on his PhD in Public Health at Université Catholique de Louvain, Belgium. He has expertise in various evaluation research methodologies like randomised clinical trials and cluster surveys, amongst other quantitative methodologies. He has been part of a Data Safety and Monitoring Board for Malaria clinical trials in Uganda. Dan has coordinated and managed research project in Uganda and other SSA countries and accumulated skills in research coordination, study designs and implementation, data quality assurance. He has led groups involved in statistical analysis of large relational databases, training and supervising data collection and management, baseline surveys, evaluation research, and M&E systems. He has practical experience in synthesis and dissemination of information in various forums for policy development. He has lectured statistics at universities in Uganda and Tanzania. Dan has acquired international experience in Africa and Europe. He is currently the President of the International Biometric Society – Group Uganda. Dan enjoys playing golf and spending time with his two kids and wife.
